DOD Unique Identifiers (UID)
The DOD UID Mandate has created many challenges for defense
contractors beyond simply marking parts. UID data requirements
include WAWF / UID Registry submittal, Mil-Std-129 barcode
and RFID labeling.
Mil-Pac has integrated UID processing into all aspects of its shipping workflow, providing a simple and seamless solution. Our WAWF and labeling software support UID readers as well as data imports from UID Management and business systems.
With Mil-Pac, UID compliance is an incremental process change rather than a entirely new challenge.
Integrated UID Support
Electronic UID Submittal
- UIDs included in WAWF DD250 Receiving Reports
- Direct submittal to UID Registry
- AIA Partners-to-Primes transaction generation
Scanned Input of Direct Part Markings
- UID Data collection and validation
- WAWF/Registry Submittal
- RFID/UID Container Labels from scanned data
UID Data Import
- UID Data Management Systems
- WAWF DD250 data import from SAP, Oracle, and enterprise systems
- UID Database import from part marking devices
and enterprise systems
UID Label Printing
- Mil-Std-130 UID Part Labels
- Mil-Std-129 Container Labels (including 2D UID barcode required by Notice 4)
- RFID UID Unit Container Labels
Powerful Built-In UID Support
Mil-Pac has provided integrated UID support in its WAWF DD250 since the earliest days of the UID Registry, supporting UID registration both as part of a WAWF Receiving Report (DD250) and directly to the UID Registry, both with one single data entry step.
- Submittal of UID data is simple with Mil-Pac WAWF-DD250 Receiving Reports.
- Six Mil-Std-130M-compliant UID label formats are included in Std-Barc. Std-Barc supports RFID-tagging, including UID items, and the submittal of Advance Shipment Notice (ASN) transactions for RFID/UID data.
- Support for UIDs in RFID ASNs speeds WAWF process, even for large palletized orders and shipments with UID-Unit level RFID-tagging.
Simplifed UID Registry Submittal
FormStation and DD-Master simplify the submittal of data to the WAWF and the DoD UID Registry by automating the generation of UID data. It can be as easy as adding UID: Type2 to a DD250 line item. FormStation also accepts UID data in its XML and M12 import files, supporting the submittal of UIDs managed by enterprise systems.
UID Data Scanning for Labeling and WAWF/Registry Submittal
Std-Barc includes the capability to scan UIDs directly from marked parts, using imaging scanners by companies such as Microscan and Handheld Products. Mil-Std-129 container labels can be created directly from this data, which is also stored in the Mil-Pac UIDXchange database for submittal to WAWF. DD-Master has the ability to integrate this scanned data into WAWF Receiving Reports to update the UID Registry, either through WAWF or directly to the Registry.
UID Data Import from Marking Devices and Enterprise Systems
The Mil-Pac UIDXchange database includes
import capabilities making it compatible with Direct
Part Marking devices and popular UID Management Systems.
Flexible CSV mapping simplifies support for these systems,
as well as other enterprise business systems. The UIDXchange
database keeps an inventory of UID-marked parts from
which DD-Master
can choose when creating Receiving Reports for submittal
to WAWF. This same process supports direct UID Registry
submittal as well. Integrated barcode labeling automation
via Std-Barc
allows UID data to flow directly to Mil-Std-129 compliant
labels and RFID tags. See our Automating
UID Submission with DD-Master demo for more information.
